Electric Gecko tyres proved their ultimate grip again recently when used as an option to improve the performance of the Tamiya TT-01 E Type Electric Touring car in track tests on a well known asphalt circuit carried out for RRCI. According to the Radio Race Car International magazine (May edition) article when these tyres (37 shore front and 35 shore rear Gecko Electric Foam) replaced the fastest option from a top rubber tyre brand they 'cropped a further 2 seconds off of the lap time and brought a new level of confidence and accuracy to the racing line and despite a full 20 minute run ....there was no perceivable wear...the Gecko foam rubber compound is simply amazing, offering grip whilst minimising wear...'

Competition 53 ('C53')Gecko Electric Foam tyres

Competition 53 ('C53') Gecko Electric foam tyres for 1/10th TC/Sedan cars are now available for purchase from some of our top distributors around the world. Microtech Racing (UK) & Speed RC (Italy) have just started holding stock. They both now join A Main Hobbies (California) who have been holding stock since March this year. The C53 tyres have been showing outstanding performance against other major branded 53mm rimmed tyres and are particularly effective when racing on carpet with AND without additive or outside on asphalt. The 'C53' tyres (on 53mm diameter rims x 28mm wide & trued to 60mm) have already been used to help drivers win a national Race series here in Europe recently and the podium count is sure to rise as more and more drivers get to see their performace advantage. Of all the Gecko Electric foam tyre range, this is our premium tyre which has produced the best lap times with good predictable driving characteristics and at an excellent wear rate & tyre life overall. 

1/12th Electric Foam rubber donuts now available at Microtech.

Also our new 1/12th Gecko Electric Foam rubber donuts are now available for purchase from Microtech Racing. Donut dimensions are 33mm ID x 50mm OD and come in a 'Front' (28mm width) and a 'Rear' (40mm width).  These have originally been developed to mount on 1/12th circuit wheels at both 35mm & 38mm diameters and early results are showing the same outstanding grip and wear performance on both carpet and asphalt already demonstrated by our 1/10th scale tyres. These tyres can also be mounted on a range of other small scale RC wheels to give that unique unbeatable performance.

1/12th Gecko foam rubber circuit tyre (glued & trued) - update

Extensive testing of the Gecko foam rubber on control wheels for all carpet and asphalt race track conditions is now finally underway.  If our early promising feedback continues across all major race conditions then we should have a glued and trued 1/12th Gecko foam rubber tyre available by the end of the summer.

Dale Hulbert won the speed run at the annual Calshot Velodrome event on Sunday 26th April held by South Hants Model Car Club. He achieved one lap in 5.363 seconds which equates to an average speed of 59.61 mph. He did this using a 'modified' 1/10th Electric Sedan with 42 hardness Electric Gecko foam rubber tyres giving amazing grip via the 100% contact patch and unique Gecko foam formula. The Velodrome oval racing surface is a wood track coated with a 'grit' encassed in a hard resin which can be highly abrasive if you allow your tyres to slide, however, the unbelieveable grip that the Gecko tyres offers you ensures minimal slide and so minimal wear to go with the excellent grip.

We are now discovering that Gecko tyres are perfect for most forms of oval racing, whether you use Nitro or Electric foam compounds, the 100% contact patch guarantees you your racing lines as you go around the ovals building up your speed. We have had quite spectacular results from using the Gecko rubber whether on asphalt, carpet, wood or clay. If you race oval - you really have to try Gecko tyres and see.
